HURRAY FOR MAMA RABBIT!
we are the proud owners of a nest of 5 very long awaited babies! here's the saga:

bunny #1 = dogs eat (so sad)

bunny #2 = eats fertilizer infested grass (oops)

bunny #3 = heat stroke (darn)

bunny #4 = kicks off (who knows)

bunny # 5 = the breeder says she's pregnant, we wait and wait and wait and well, she's not pregnant (ugh) was she a he?

bunnies 6,7,8 - ? let your imagination soar

so, the kids and i head out to the rabbit breeder once again this spring. at the breeders i get the breeder jargon because she's convinced i'm also a breeder. why else would anyone buy so many bunnies? i act like i know what she's talking about.

believe you me, we are gonna get baby bunnies this time around.

i tell the breeder i want not one, but 2 pregnant females. she has two available. gives us a freebie with teeth that grow way past her mouth and up to her nose. she is one weird lookin bunny, but desperate times call for desperate measures. she's not pregnant after all (maybe it's for the best since they'd be long-toothed freaks).

BUT... the 2nd mama (peppy) has a whole fam for us! We each get our own personal creature. We'll keep you posted on the upcoming rabbit fiesta!

  2. Too funny -- maybe you should rename your blog for Char Farm -- since you have so many animals. So proud of your blog -- Miss you tons and tons. Hugs and kisses to the kids from their "cousins".

  3. Char -- your home has been a scary place for domestic animals. Indeed, remember the saga of Chucky Sue, and then the succession of rabbit disasters. Hope the recent arrivals mean that your luck is changing. Please post some photos of the new bunnies with the kids.

    Love,
    Grandpa Shields
