which one of these is the sad font?
okay- i'm back on the blogging band wagon- but had to take a small break because all baby bunnies but one got eaten by our MURDEROUS dogs and i didn't know how to break the news to all of you fans out there.
jeff's parents came up so his dad could go to father's and sons campout with the boys. while jeff was getting the boat ready, tyler opened the rabbit cage and left it open.
i planned a super memorable time with grandma and the girls and cousins. we went to the movie monsters vs aliens, ate at olive garden (plus, we got lemonade instead of water), got a toy at wal-mart- what more could you want? what a beautiful night to recall for years to come, right?
we get home and tessa's white bunny "sugar" is being mutilated by our stupid dogs. the mom and one baby are still in the cage, but the other 2 are missing. the next day another one is eaten and the next day the last one is eaten. UGH!!!!!
so, we gave our little friend katie the only survivor and i kinda suggested that they take the rabbit ASAP because we STINK at rabbits! they are doing a superb job with it!
anyway, i guess the best way to describe the rest of the night is a quote by my niece Claren, "mom, it wasn't that fun, because sierra and tessa just cried the whole night and then i cried because i forgot my blankey."
i think we'll take a break from bunnies for a bit...
Wow -- never a dull moment at the Shield household. You are so funny when you write even though I do feel bad for your girls and the bunnies.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so tragic.
ReplyDeletePoor bunnies. And poor Sierra & Tessa.
I didn't even know you guys had dogs.
Well, you guys are really good at taking care of a lot of different pets (frogs, turtles, mice, er... dogs). It's ok that you're not super awesome at bunnies.
My bunny didn't last a summer when I was a little girl. But my best friend's bunny lived about 21 years. Some people just have a gift.
Maybe you could try another kind of pet. Kitties?
Or you could try your hand at gardening. Wait, I think you do that already right? Didn't you grow up in an orchard, Charie?
So glad you are blogging again! I hope you can have a happy post next time. How was the boat trip? We are loving the bunny, we still don't know if it is a boy or a girl though? Smiles Danette
ReplyDeleteyou guys must be on PETA's watch list by now.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty horrific! I think you should definitely stay away from bunnies for a while.
